Digital & Film Photography.

I am a photographer. A Medical Photographer, so lots of technical/precise stuff as well as interpretive stuff.
In my spare time I’m also a photographer, nature, macro, astrophotography, bird and landscape.
Digital photography is my main modus operandi, but I’m using more and more film (analogue photography as the in-crowd say).

What is it about film? You need to get exposure, filtration (altering the colour contrast of your subject) as correct as possible because you can only alter the final image by a small amount, nothing like the manipulations you can do with a digital RAW image.

Film camera gear can be a frustration, most of it is 30 years old or more, so not always working as should.
Developed a film from a Kiev 4K the other day and every image was so far out of focus everything was a complete blur (a uniform dark mass). So on a wild thought I measure the back focus of the lens focused at infinity which turned out to be about 45mm meaning the lens was designed for the original Zenit SLR… so I need to buy another lens for the Kiev. Life is fun, Yer Right.
