Out last night (9pm pitch black) on our country lanes walking Yogi (our 7-year-old black Lab Collie cross. Try to do 4 to 10 km per night at a reasonable pace. Maybe if I can build up the stamina then I can start running again… Anyways, I’m waffling – last night walking in the dark with Yogi, (I take a head torch but only use it if it’s so black I can’t see my feet) when I notice the headlights of a vehicle coming up behind me, so when they get reasonably near I pop my torch on to highlight myself and Yogi (who is on a lead) and move off the road onto the verge. The vehicle dips its headlights, slows a little (all good stuff) and I do a friendly wave as it passes. A moment later the vehicle stops and reverses and the young driver asks if we are OK and when I say, “yep all OK”, he then wishes us a good evening and carries on. Now that is FRIENDLY and COURTIOUS and from a “young un”. Made my day.
